Early in October the group enjoyed a bus trip to the Farm Progress Show at Brookston, Indiana and in December the club members went to the International Livestock Show in Chicago. The F.F.A. sponsored various money making ac- tivities during the year, the more important ones being-the Fanners' Exchange Sale in the fallg the Vitality Seed Sales project in January and February and the annual slave auction in May. The highlight of the years program was the an- nual Father-Son Banquet in May when the chapter sweetheart was announced and outstanding farm boys were recognized for their outstanding achieve- ments in agriculture. Robert Moore, chapter president, distributes chas prizes to the winners in the F.F.A. Point System competition. The club members are Bob Moore, David Haeck, Ed Leininger, Jim Eller, and Tom Crowel. F.F.A. Sponsor J. D. Kintzel distributes award certificates to Robert Moore, F.F.A. president and Jerry Zahner, F.F.A. vice president. The boys were winners in the F.F.A. Safety Award Contest.

I-I 06,4 ' One of the highlights of the year for the F.H.A. was Daddy Date Night . The girls brought their dads' favorite dishes and invited their fathers for the evening meal. After the meal Miss Karen Goebel showed her slides of India. We also had a Christmas party at which we made izzas and P cookies. After the party Kesara answered questions about her native Thailand. During the year members of the club attended seasonal conferences and when spring finally arrived we concluded the years activities with our annual style show. Our club was sponsored by Mrs. Frick, Mrs. Miller, and Miss Goebel. The F.T.A. officers for '64-'65 were: Barb Rumpf, presi- dent, Suzanne Stoeckinger, vice president 5 Beverly McPike, secretary g Fredricka Evans, treasurer 5 and Dorothy Stupka, parliamentarian. Left to Right FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS-ROW ONE: Sandra We Future Business Leaders concluded an event- ful year with our annual awards banquet at which time honor students who have excelled in business subject areas were recognized. Our club year began with a visit to the Associates Building. In the fall we sponsored a bake sale and at Christ- mas time our business club had a party. Guests invited to address our group included a post- graduate who spoke on employment opportunities for business majors, our foreign exchange stu- F dent Kesara who spoke on Thailand, and Jackie Geerligs who answered questions concerning her summer trip to Finland. The ofhcers of the club were: president Marilynn Olsen, vice president Pam Bourret, secretary Sandra Avery and treas- urer Cathy Eger. ROW THREE: JoAnn Zugbaum, Mary lX1cMann, Thelma Eger, Sue All hands are busy preparing pom poms for the sectional. Mr. Behrens and ca- det teachers continue this traditional F.T.A. project. Learning about the opportunities in teaching and cultivating the qualities essential in a good teacher, Penn's cadet teachers extend their interest in the profession while on-the-job training. The F.T.A. planned a program which included, among other things, a talk by Miss Standish of the Guidance Department on the organization of the cadet teaching program, an informal presentation by Jackie Geerligs, the Penn High summer exchange student to Finland, and a lecture by Dr. George Huys on the organization of the P-H-M School Corporation. The Final meeting of the cadets was an evaluation-discussion of the teaching problems and program followed during the year. The ultimate purpose of F.T.A. is to help the mem- bers decide whether to continue pursuing the Turley.
