Hanley, Haines and Gilbert gather information. :www Atbwwts Ambdious Pwatgww., clobbm Sixty Five boys and three s onsors went on an in - P - dustrial tour through the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Steel Mills in East Chicago and through the Ameri- can Standard Oil Refinery in Whiting, Indiana in October. Approximately Fifty members attended the Christmas Party 5 enjoyed a Christmas Dinner, movies, basketball, and the Christmas treat. Several indus- trial movies were shown and several industrial leaders and engineers spoke before the club this year, giving the boys an insight as to how to make a living. Kay Dougall, Sally The Y-Teens, a service club embodying the principles of the YXVCA, had a busy, busy year. The Teens chose Alpine Enchantmentw for their Christmas Ball theme and, for a first, decorated the lobby appropriately for danc- ing. The gym, converted to a dance floor, had been used in previous years. The Easter convocation, traditionally a function of the Y-Teeners, was once again a club responsi- bility. Thoughtful members of the club as- sisted needy families during the Easter holi- day recess. Y-Teeners also raised money for various charities. During the month of March mem- bers sold 49 cartons of candy. The mid-winter conference at Gary, Indi- ana had a Penn Y-Teen representation and with the Corning of spring the artistically talented Teeners planned posters for the April spring prom held at Erskine Park Country Club. Climaxing a year of fun and service Senior Y-Teeners proudly wore the traditional Carnation corsage at the last meeting of the year. Led by sponsor Mr. Daniel Diener and club ofhcers Phil Allen, Mike Kanouse, Barbara Rumpf, and Steve Kelley the club heard Phil Allen solve for pi, Mr. Diener relate the mathematical prowess of the Egyptians, Mike Kanouse shouw some problems in logic, and David Rumpf illustrate how to derive special magic squares.
