LaMar Holaway, who joined the ranks of Penn's outstanding faculty this year, the Mixed Con- cert Choir, Advanced Girls' Choir, and the Freshmen Girls, Choir attained new musical heights. The Hrst all choir concert. provoked much holiday cheer at the yuletide season. For the first time in the history of Penn High School, the Concert Choir and the Chamber Choir did a half- hour television performance entitled HMusic of the Yulef' High- lights from the yuletide season were 4'Hallelujahi' by Blozart and the candle-lit processional to the strains of 'LAngels YVe Have Heard on Highf' In the first few months of school, Mr. Holaway introduced two new ensembles: the Chamber Choir, a mixed group of twenty, and the Girls' Glee Club. In stunning white dinner jackets and floor length formals, the guys and galsw made beautiful music for the Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, and the Order of Eastern Star. The Chamber Choir was awarded a superior rating at the Penn NISBOVA contest qualifying it for the state contest held at Butler University, Indianapolis. The Kingsmen Reaper' went rather well for the choir because they scored another superior rating. This year the Chamber Choir journeyed to Moran and Mary Frank Junior Highs to entertain and recruit choir talent for next year.

It's February-It's Katy Zei- ger-Itis a valentine! Mrs. Toth and Miss Williams co-sponsored the art club this year. Many of our regular meetings featured the work of art teachers complete with demonstrations. Miss Shar- on Williams gave our club some interesting ideas on in- terior decoration. Our exchange student Kesara was a regular meeting guest and spoke informally about the art of Thailand. Mrs. Challinor a teacher-artist brought us a display of oil aintin s and featured oil painting techniques in her pres- P S entation. Perhaps our most beneficial Held trip was taken when we saw Tom VanDam1ne in action at the Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis. One of 1965's first but rnost interesting sessions featured our own Mr. Daniel Diener. He gave a most interesting talk illustrated with slides, on African art and his tour of the Holy Land. The Art of Living was the subject of Mr. Hanifl. He ad- dressed the club at the April meeting. Creative minds and busy hands in a circle of activity
