The consolidation with Madison brought good fortune not only to the basketball team, but to Bill Jaggls cross country squad as well. Former Madisonite Brent Weldy, a senior, capped an outstanding season by being named MVP.- With VVeldy leading the way, the two milers raced to a 6-6 record, logging a winning sea- son for the Hrst time since 1962. The squad was bolstered by sophomore John Dudeck and junior Terry Batson, whose determined efforts earned them the positions of co-captains for this fall's team. Seniors Dave Beery and Doyle Reinhardt and junior Dick Fulmer, besides winning letters in the sport, also were among the top six boys in scoring.
