ROW TWO-Jessie Barrier, Bob Williams, Mark Grigg, Steve MacMann, Bill Stafford, Dave Risner, B-Team Coach Harvey Hurst. 39 M Bolstered by a record turnout of 98 boys at opening practices, the Penn wrestling team, under the men- torship of head coach Don Quimby and assistant Harvey Hurst, turned in a splendid 545-l season. Leading the Penn wrestlers was senior team captain Dave Beery. He set a new Penn mat record by winning 15 matches during the season and losing only four while earning his third varsity letter. Senior Glen Rummel also came through strong for the mat- men as he scored ll pins during the season and set a new Penn mark for most letter points, 68. Other letter winners included sophomore John Mroczek, freshman Dennis Shroyer, junior Mike 4Mroczek, senior Roger Wood, junior Phil Miller, senior Dave Lung, and senior Phil Hakes. Highlighting the Penn mat season were victories over Northern Indiana Conference teams Michigan City, LaPorte, Goshen, and Washington. We also had a,tie with Elkhart on our record, the best show- ing we have ever made against the Blue Blazers. Quimby's forces placed second in both the Penn and Culver International meets and took sixth place in the tough South Bend sectional in the Finale.
