Mrs Irene Arndt Chairman of the Business Department, conducts a short- hand and transcription class Juniors Sharon Sones and Karen Grose are pic- tures of concentration as they keep up with the transcription via shorthand. Seniors Donna Austin and Pam Javis make prac- tical use of cluplicator in office practice class. The Business Department at P.H.S. offers students three distinctly different courses. These are a stenographic course, a clerical course, and a bookkeeping course, The sten- ographic course includes shorthand, typing, and business English. The clerical course includes typing and the use of office ma- chines. The bookkeeping course includes tax and corporation bookkeeping. In addition to the specialized courses inte- rested students, particularly those bound for college, can acquire skills in notehand and personal typing, The department offers job training for those interested in suppliment- ing college funds and offers a wide variety for those who seek a career in business. Mrs. Irene Arndt is the chairman of the business department and she is assisted by Mrs. An- derson, Mrs. Hibschman, Mrs. Moser, and Mr. Howell. Specific courses: General Business, Typing I,II,III,IV, Shorthand I,II, Shorthand and Transcription, Sales and Law, Office Prac- tice C Business Machinesj Notehand and Per- sonal Typing. lwtlw Business Dep -'Business as Usual' Senior Joy Yackley uses an adding machine for her class assignment in office practice class.
