Mud, rain, and the lack of the traditional bonfire and parade failed to dampen the spirits which made Peninsu- lals 1967-68 Homecoming an event to remember. This year's Pep Club took an active part when they helped decorate the football players, lockers with ever- ything from balloons to Hy swatters. Many players were additionally surprised to find the inside of their lockers feathered and loaded with candy and other small tokens to urge them on to victory. Slogans like H Swat Those Hornetsn and 'iEat ,Em Up Seahawksn contributed to the enthusiasm built for the decisive game ahead. Starting the Homecoming Assembly were the psyche- delic sounds of the New Salvation Army Band, which later swung into the heated competition of a fixed tricy- cle race between the coaches. Tire treads imprinted in chocolate cake crumbs gave evidence of the cake eating contest, a test of appetites won by the juniors. That night at the game, an enthusiastic crowd watched Peninsula down Enumclaw 7-0. Despite the muddy Held, the traditional halftime show was presented by the Band, Drill Team, Seachicks, and Majorettes. Under the direction of Mr. Bruce Brummond, routines were performed to the tunes of Georgie Girlf, HThe Stripperfy and 7Fever.U Completing the evening was the dance with music by the UFanatics.U At intermission the traditional crowning of the 1967-68 Homecoming Queen and King took place: Queen Kris Allen and King Ellis Farwell. Other royalty included Freshmen Becky Finholm and Randy Patterson, Sophomores Lois McKinney and Don Pol- worth, juniors jorja Peterson and Pat Lyle, and Seniors Helen Finholm and Chris McKinney. BOTTOM ROW: Randy Patterson, Becky Finholm, Lois McKinney, and Don Polworth. Middle row: Mike Lyle, Iorja Peterson, Helen Finholm, and Chris McKinney. Top row: Kris Allen and Ellis Farwell. Homecoming Dance and light show.
