Standing: Keith Williams, Kevin Krause, Ward Tobin. Kneeling: Aargon Lind, Stan Weston, Daryl Kooley. Cross Country Coach Oskar Schock. 1 A Test 0fErza'urance The old telephone road behind the school was the training grounds for the Peninsula Highys cross country team. Over rocks, mud puddles, blackberry bushes, hills and ravines, the objective was to rung to run far and hard. Unlike most of the running competition, cross country is purely a test of will power and endurance. Under the coaching of Mr. Shock, the team turned out everyday and ran several miles. Although they lost to most of the teams in the Seamont League, the spirit of the competition consisted of good clean sportsmanship. Richard Tatton and Keith Williams proved to have the most poten- tial of the seven-man team, as they led the team to victory over Be- thel in the Hrst match ofthe season. 80
