Great prospects were in line forthe Seahawk track team this year. Coach Gary Stainbrook relied heavily on a senior dominated team, and with the aid of many ener- getic underclassmen, talent and experience built the foundation of an enterprising team. Returning letterman Ralph Brindley and jerry Faker were the star sprinters, while jim Wright again proved to be the top pole vaulter. Alan Ross, Flip Blake, and Doug johnson, senior weightmen, handled the shot put and javelin, and runners Bob Sinclair and Phil Serka showed much ability in the long distant runs. This comparatively small team, with its desire and ability to succeed, made a fine showing in the league standings.
