Running, Blocking, Diving Pat Lyle runs for a touchdown. Players get an education on the field. It looked like a slow start, but for many players, three years of hard work began to pay off after a 20-10 victory over Sumner. It was during this game that the Seahawks, spurred on by a tough defense, realized their full poten- tial. Peninsulals greatest effort was put forth as the Sea- hawks battled against the Bethel Braves. This 21-0 win clinched the Mount Division Championship of the Sea- mount League. . The highlight of the football season, and one of the most important events on the 67-68 calendar, came when the Seahawks traveled to Sumner to meet the Fife Trojans. Before a crowd of 4,500 people, a strong Penin- sula team gave Fife their hardest game, but was defeated by a score of 21-6. In addition to all league games, Peninsula also played the Number 5 AAU ranked team in the state, the Port Angeles Boughriders.
