Backstage, members of the cast made final adjustments in their make-up and cos- tume while waiting for their cues. Four weeks of hard work was at its' climax. Taking part in the production of The Imaginary Invalid was a challenge. It required loads of art work, costume work, and memory work. The stage crew and art department spent hours on the set. The drama class was responsible for make-up and props which included an ivory-handled cane and a clavichord, The girls in the homemaking classes helped to make beautiful new costumes. As director, Mrs. Terry Manweiler also had a lot on her mind during these weeks. Of course no play would be complete with- out a student director. This year, the cast was fortunate in hav- ing two hard-working student directors: Mary Stone and Gayle Starr. These girls worked patiently with the cast which included a double cast of female roles. Why so much bother for just three performances? lt's a real learning experience for those involved and an entertaining ex- perience for those attending. Yes, a lot of work-but it was worth it.
