When there wasn't a deadline to meet Toni Sul- livan found other things to do, like study for a chernis- try test next period. . . .Ji E... As a new member to annual staff, Doug Clark is given a few les- sons in putting together an annual by Christy Reuhl, an old hand at such things. iw O O Come on! Get Busy! We've got a deadline to meet! These words became familiar in annual staff as the deadline days ap- proached. If you were anywhere near room 26, you could hear the mad typing behind closed doors. Last minute headlines were composed and scribbled on the pages. The photographer was sent to take desperately needed candid pictures and copy writers interviewed club presidents for material to write up the interesting copy that makes up the annual. Each time the dead- line was met five minutes before it was due, but it was met! Editors Karen Holm and Toni Johnson worked long. exhaust- ing hours to make the annual one ofthe best. Georgette Phill and Jeff Rothweiler contributed a great deal with their work in art and photography. Other staff members were busy working on write-ups and layouts, besides learning the newest thing in hair styles and howto do the gator. And to think not a single broken pica stick all year. Color was the big highlight of the '67 Kwahaes this year not to mention the sixteen additional pages that help to bring back memories ofthe year. So what else is new?

Just ask one of those always-in-the-know members of the Outlook staff and then look out. You'll be confronted with all the latest at Pen Hi - sports, club activities, gossip, and even humor! All of this and more published in one wonderful paper. What did the paper staff members have to do to publish the paper? Fight with a neurotic varityper. Stay up nights to meet the deadlines. Shuffle through drama class to get to the staff room to work during seventh period. Send Jack Merry to Eric's to get another round of milkshakes. Stare down the janitor who can't figure out why you're still at school at 9:00. Listen to the sports editor grumble that he's only doing his page this time and then gladly accept the other three pages he does for fun, Rescue the can of rubber cement-Cliff Dann is making an- other eraser. Editor George Williams kept everyone in line and kept pro- duction in motion. What's your outlook on the school paper? Ann Greeley, Sue Schillinger, Jeh' Flothweiler. ROW THREE. Claudia Olson, Georgette Phill. Barbara Knoll. ROW FOUR. Millie Johnson, Toni Johnson, Buzz Dower, Cindy Radonich. Sue Schillinger's typing ability was a great aid on dead- line day, and, for that fact on any day that an annual staff member had a theme due for senior English.
