will Want to march around on the floor smiling? Then join Drill Team. In Drill Team you can march around smiling at Home- coming and during half time at football and basketball games. Drill Team marches and smiles for long periods of time in the Daffodil and Rhododendron parades. Leading the team was smiling Claudia Olson and Mrs. Nor- ma Martin, advisor. For the first time Louise Cruver was allowed to twirl her fire baton. She was careful with it, but even so a fire extinguisher was held ready. PGP P-E-P-That's Peninsula's Pep Club, a very enthusiastic group. The girls managed to keep alive school spirit in a variety of ways. Meetings were held once a month to plan for the numerous skits, pep signs, and so on created by the members under the direction of president Karen Larsen, vice president Lane DeWalt, secretary Peg- gy Greeley, and advisor lvlrs. Terry Ma nweiler, Pep Club's work was evident in many areas of school life. Re- member the pep assemblies where your teeth stuck together be- cause ofthe tafty passed out by the club members? And the clever skits created and presented by member Brooke Taylor? And don't forget the green and white pennants sold at the games and in the halls. And the megaphones used by each club member to make the cheering section just that much louder, Yes, all these things combined add up to an active, enthusiastic club, which contributed much to a peppier atmosphere at Pen High. Shuffle through drama class to get to the staff room to work during seventh period. Send Jack Merry to Eric's to get another round of milkshakes. Stare down the janitor who can't figure out why you're still at school at 9:00. Listen to the sports editor grumble that he's only doing his page this time and then gladly accept the other three pages he does for fun, Rescue the can of rubber cement-Cliff Dann is making an- other eraser.
