Awowfdfubwiflvnmwideas l Girl's Athletic Association officers: Kathy Spadoni, Christy Reuhl, Becky Hatch, Marlene Brones. GAA was an athletic group this year at Peninsula Hi. President Christy Reuhl saw to that. She had help from other officers too. They were Kathy Baldwin, Becky Hatch, and Marlene Brones. Advisor Mrs. Norma Martin aided them in everything they did. GAA was an old club with new activities. They had playdays just as before. but this year a swimming playday was held. Another new idea was to have the annual banquet at a private home. The home chosen for this honor was Carol Olson's, where the main course was spaghetti. Two senior girls. Christy Reuhl and Karen Holm, received four-year pins. Of course, old practices weren't given up. There was the year-end picnic with the awarding of the girl-of-the-year award to the fresh- man girl who showed the most desire to excel in athletics. New ideas and an old club! Now the ideas are old, but there's always next year and room for more new ideas. 38 G.A.A. president Christy Reuhl

Maj malw niwdisplag Head majorette Louise Cruver doing her routine to Barefootin' at the Sumner game. The Drill Team formed a palm tree in the background for her to stand under while she twirled, 40 0 Then there were the majorettes. Oh yes! There were Louise Cruver, Barbara Dower, Karen Larsen and Cindy McGugin. The majorettes twirled in the Homecoming parade, during half-time at basketball games, and in the Daffodil and Rhodo- dendron parades. Oh, they were a fiery bunch, especially Louise. Fire on the floor, fire in the air, but usually the fire was in hand during her fire baton routine at the Sumner game. The other girls performed separately too. Barbara and Karen twirled to Peter Gunn and Cindy did an individual routine at the last game. The girls were aided by the drill team in their dramat- ic presentations. You have to give the majorettes credit - they'll give anything a whirl! Majorettes: KNEELING, Cindy McGugin, STANDING, Karen Larsen, Louise Cruver, and Barbara Dower.
