wzwdue Carol Garrison is one of the many people who operate the ice cream machine in their free time. wlwfalw When you needed a book, who checked it out to you? When you had to run an errand to the office who helped you? When you were hungry at a game or wanted ice cream seventh per- iod, who did you turn to? The helpful people who gave their time to help you, that's who. These hard-working, efficient people were always there when you needed them. Take the concession workers, for instance, they gave up watching the games to sell hot dogs, coffee and other things, Or the kids who ran the student store-they gave up free time to sell you what you needed. The librarians, office girls, and ice cream salesman did the same thing-gave up their study halls and sometimes their lunch periods or a little time after school to take on these thankless jobs. And thankless jobs they were, butthe kids took them on. worked hard, and had fun at the same time. ROW THREE Sue Williston, Walter Thompson, Dale Neel, and Dana Delony. Should foreign aid be limited to non-military assistance? That's debatable. Or so thought the members of debate teams throughout the league. Peninsula's debate squad was larger than it has been for many years. Most members were first-year debaters, who worked long and hard to overcome this handicap. They were assisted by the few experienced debaters returning from last year. All were under the supervision of Mrs. Verna Todd, Life was not easy for the debaters. They had to research the topic of foreign aid very thoroughly and be able to argue both for and against the question. lt certainly wasn't easy, but they came through, and won a few, lost a few. They gain ed in experi- ence, knowledge, poise-was it worth it? That's debatable. President Dan Ross listens to suggestions for an upcoming project at the Letter man's Club meeting.
