T' Knapp. lf. Pvtvrsrn l. Otto, Bl ln-el. T5 l'lsli The Penmasquers were organized by Mrs. Bouvia. dramatic coach. soon alter school opened. l hirtvflive students were on the roster. This club met sixth and seventh periods in room nine on Nlonday and Vylednesday. At this time plays were read and various pantomimes and skits were presented by the students, During the Christmas season the Penmasquers presented two tableaux in the show window in our main hall. One was the Nativity Scene and the other Santas Office. They also presented a very good program for the Christmas assembly. On February I9 the Annual Play Conference was held at South Kitsap, The Penmasquers were one of the eight high school drama clubs invited to present a one-act play and participate in the discussion. Our group presented Via the Airshaftf' Participating in it were Betty Peterson. Forrest Knapp. Doris Prais- ure. and Joan Coan. Gloria Gaetana represented our group in the discussion of Dramatic Activities in Our School. The twenty students that attended' this conference reported a very enjoyable day and expressed the hope that perhaps in the future Peninsula could be the best school. The Penmasquers presented programs at Rosedale. Arletta. and Gig Harbor clubs. The program was essentially the same. consisting of Via the Airshaftf' and Darby and Joan with a cast composed of Bob Ulsh. At this time they put on four one-act plays. Polly Put the Kettle On. Uncle Bobs Bride, Elmer, and a cutting of Arsenic and Old l.ace. All those affiliated with the Penmasquers agree they have spent a very profitable year and are looking forward to more interesting dramatic activities in the future.
