It's a light and tumble journey But you can take the crosstown bus if it's raining or it's cold From the East Side to the park; animals will love it if you do Just a fine and fancy ramble To the zoo. And the Something tells me lths all happening at the 200 I do believe it, I do believe it's true And hamsters turn on frequently. WHAT A GAS! You gotta come and see At the zoo. Mallory, l Wing, Mrs. Brown Where did the Class 0f 69 come from? We all began the same way, but look at us now! Sometimes we wish we could go back in time Return . to baby shoes and curly hair to hula hoops and skateboards to saddle shoes and ankle socks to Santa Claus and the Easter bunny Life was much simpler And yet, life is so much more exciting and interesting now. Slowly, we are becoming individuals. We have all felt the pressures, The threats to our individuality, maturity, and free will. The assembly procedure reduced seniors to first graders Rules and regulations - all seemingly useless This we could bear, but it is the outside world which will affect us The most . . , Poverty and hunger Hate and prejudice Vietnam and the draft Discontent and violence These are the real problems which we face - which we must face, or be defeated by our own ignorance and silence. But we also had good times We used the school as an escape . . A Appreciating the apples Laughing at the Donkey Basketball Game Relaxing in the so-called Senior Lounge And showing our spirit at games and meets The talents of our class, diverse and varied, are vitally present, But we must shed the protection of friends and school and find ourselves As individuals. Our contacts with you, our young people show the gap is a myth. Your concerns are real, your goals ambitious, and at times Board Of Education Time can be our most valuable ally - if we use it wisely. However, young people often postpone action because time seems to be unlimited. And yet, time is so fleeting. The habits we form as young people to use time efficiently will do much to prevent a life of regret. Elmer F. Peck Superintendent Clinton B. Hutto BOARD OF EDUCATION; Seated: Mr: David. Bush;Mrs. Mary-Parke Manning, Mr, James Moser, President Standing: Mrs William Gamble, Dr. Stanford Friedman, Mr. Stanley lensen your analysis of the status quo has been accurate. As you continuepalways keep your questioning mind. We hope the school system our community has provided has initiated an educational process that will last all your life. James S. Moser, president Board of Education Time is certainly an exciting theme for a high school yearbook Our very existence every hour every day, and every year depends upon time. Our entry into mortal life depends upon the time cycle of birth. As we grow into adulthood time plays an important part in our preparation for this phase of our allotted time on earth. We get up at a certain time - we go to work a certain time - we usually retire at a certain time - our meals are usually controlled by the elements of time - our traveling is controlled by a timetable, ad infinitum. Maturity brings us face to face with many crucial elements of time. Times change and we change with them,ll according to the historian. What a challenge to your generation in these troubled times to change the things that are unacceptable in order to benefit the welfare of the masses. In your preparation for your chosen lifels work use the time element wisely in everything that you do. Be guided by Francis Bacon's, to choose time is to save time, and Franklinls famous quotation, remember that time is money. Be sincere in all of your activities. Be guided by Lincolnls famous words, you can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time. Bear in mind, however, that in the cycle of time, his golden locks time hath to silver turned. Then you become the establishment. When this occurs may your progeny have been so well guided that they will have no time to complain about your generation. As Utopia sought by so many past generations will have arrived Wallace J. Howell, Principal To the Class of 1969 Time can be defined as the general idea of successive existence. You have just completed one of the most time consuming events of your entire life. It has taken you thirteen years but you can now say that you have graduated from High School. What the next successive event in your life is will be squarely up to you. You have been given the opportunity during your years at Penfield High to acquire those knowledges and skills which educators believe will be of greatest service in the life upon which you are about to embark. You can obtain every goal which you may set for yourself in our society. 30, set your goals high and keep striving to attain them and time will be good to you. Donald Burt Assistant Principal Mrs. M.
