S. this year and did a good job of it too. The team, coached of course by George Monagan, had an unbeaten season with the exception of a loss to East Rochester. The final tally is 13 wins, 1 loss. Congratulations to the team, who really got out there and fought, and to the cheerleaders who did so much for the morale of both the team and the entire student body. J. V. CHEERLEADERS P. As the year progressed, the boys racked up victory after victory. They played bang-up ball all the way through and lost only 3 of the 17 games played during the regular season. As a result, the Chiefs were again crowned Monroe County Class C Champs. They had to work harder for the crown this year than in the past ho wever, as two more schools were added to Class C in the fall of 1951, making it neces- sary to overcome not only Scottsville, but Churchville and Honeoye Falls as well. The team met Clifton Springs in the quarterfinals of the Sectionals and held a lead on them until the dying minutes, but despite this and the fact that they played championship ball they lost out to the Spa five in a game which was good to win and no sin to lose. To top the year off, Sid Ludwig and Bruce Chinger Thompson were chosen cn the Monroe County Class All-Scholastic Team fthe Coaches' Dream Teamj, an honor not only to these boys but to the school as well. Congratulations, guys, you did a wonderful job. 40 'dz 'D Koala 3741? 7

Pre-season gossip had it that the boys were fated for the Monroe County B-C League Championship. They looked good all the way through the season and lived up to all expectations. Coached by Rum Peck, they wound up the year by plowing through all compe- tition, namely Rush-Henrietta and Honeoye Falls, and turned in a 9 won, 2 lost total. Another successful baseball season has been wrapped up by the Penfield boys and their very able coach. SOCCER An excellent first chapter in the Penfield Sports Annals of 1951 and 1952 was written up last fall by the Penfield Central Soccer Team. The squad, made up of boys from each of the four high school classes, Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior, and coached by George Monagan, turned in a very commendable record at the end of the season-4 wins, 2 losses, and 1 tie. Although they fought long and hard, they were edged out of a Sectional berth by a strong Churchville ll in the playoffs for Monroe County Class C Championship. Both coach and team deserve hearty congratulations for a job well done. SOCCER Is! Row: R. Hesler, C. Apple- garth, 1. Salmon, D. Taft, P Alvut, G. Bach. 2nd Roux' L. deRoos, S. Niel- son, C.
