SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Bottom Beverly Hetrick Secretary THE CONGRESSIONAL RECORD A RETIRED SI NATOR EXPRFSSES HIS OPINION! OI' THI' PRESENT SENATORS The present Sen ttors have always proven themselxes vorthy of any honors which might be bestowed on them The beginning of their first congressional term the year 1948 under the leadership of Bonnie Schewe Imogene Braman m Urckfitz and Larry Decker was uneventful except for numerous parties at Porter s nn Their next tfrm was more eventful and prosperous and under the d rection of Bonnie Schewe Dick Porter Larry Decker and ohn de Roos they sponsored a Sophomore Hop for the entertainment of their fellow Congressmen Last year having gained in knowledge and experience they published the Pen Pomter a favorite monthly newspaper of the Congressmen For leaders they McCormick freasurer ohn de Roos They made a very good name for themsely es by presenting under the direction of Mrs Wilson a delightful farce entitled The Perfect Idiot To signify their approaching promotlon they ordered their class rings early in the year Shortly after Thanksgiving the rest of the Congressmen were blmded by the glow of these wondrous rings of gold To top the year off the grand finale the prom Strollmg Thru the Park was presented It is said that they had a larger attendance at this event than any other class in the history of Penfield They crowned ustme Norton Queen of the Prom and Ceorge Bach King of the Prom Speaking of Queens during that all important unior year they were represented in the Harvest Queen contest by Miss Beverly Hebing who became Penfield s alternate Harvest Queen on the night of the Prom And so they entered the halls of this new and larger building this fall with the thought of graduation Still utmost in importance was the proposed Washington trip but to go to Washington they must have money and so they produced the comedy The Blg Help A magazine drive was undertaken in the early fall and a Christmas card sale brought in more money They worked along with the Masons n sponsormg the Commumty Players of Rochester in Father of the Bride All this happened under the leadership of their capable oliicers President im Urck ntz V1ce President George Bach Secretary Beverly Herrick Treasurer ohn de Roos. They sold candy and pop at the home basketball games and they sponsored a Gym Warming Dance for the new gym. Early in the year work was started on the yearbook and so to make sure that they had a good one they' appointed Beverly Hebing and Donna Nielson Co-Editors of the unction.
