WE ACQUIRE SPECIAL SKILLS In order to learn any of the vocational skills properly,twe know that a firm foundation is needed in the basie fundamentals of man,s knowledge. Therefore we have many rooms in our castle where students go daily to strengthen their knowledge in the so-called iigt'anem'l subjects? Here we iind out how to use the English language to express ourselves in writing and speaking. We see the many uses of mathematics in our daily work, and study the sciences in order to learn about the laws of nature. The walls of our castle no longer separate us from the outside world. All the people of the world are our C neighbors, and so we study geography and history in ofder to understand them as well as ourselves. But we also take courses in music, art,'physical education, health, and driveris education in-order to live safer,fu11er'lives. Knights of today have much more to learn than knights of the middle ages, but we know that the extra work is well worth the eEort. AAErt- . 'JIW'

WE GAIN BASIC KNOWLEDGE A knighths life is not what it used to be. Today we have to know about jet planes, guided missiles, atomic hssion, and earth satellites. The tools of the trade have certainly changed. But fortunately, at Central we are prepared for the needs of the day. Opportunities for training in over twenty vocational fields are to be found in our uniquely modern castle. Expert craftsmen are available who teach the newest methods in industrial production and in technical services. Bravery is surely needed today just as it was when knighthood was in flower, but it is not enough. Highly- tI-iained scientists, machinists, mechanics, stenographers, nurses, and designers are essential if we are to survive j aid to improve our way of life. So at Central we are e striving to meet the challenge of the times by learning well .the skills which will keep America free and strong.
