(Photo by Willard Studio) This year Pendleton High School had many students who earned recognition for outstanding achievement in various fields. At the local science fair Tim Schaeffer, Steve Hanna, and Jonathan Wiggins won first, second, and third prizes, re- spectively, for their projects. Bob Johnson re- ceived an honorable mention at the regional science fair. Doug Dickson was a finalist in National Merit Scholarship competition. Trudi Hoffman was Pendleton ' s recipient of the D.A.R. citizenship award. Marsha Nelson submitted our entry in the Miss Christmas Carol contest. Joan Webb took first place in the county and school with her entry in the A.A.P.S. medical essay contest. Steve Ring and Danny Webb were sec- ond and third, respectively, in this contest. Faculty director, Mrs. Nancy Avery, and student director, Susan Klepfer, co- operated in channeling the high enthusiasm of actors and committee members into the re- hearsals, pubhcity campaigns, costume fittings, and make-up sessions that were necessary to make the final presentation on November 9 an outstanding success.
