SENIORCLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1958, we, the class of 1961, entered high school as bewildered freshmen. Soon after school started, we were formally welcomed by the Sophomores with an initiation. The girls wore men's pants and shirts, sneakers with nylons, and a cap on backwards, while the boys wore bermudas, blouses on backwards, a bonnet, and two different kinds of shoes. After we got this under our belts, we settled down to high school life. Our class advisor was Mrs. Dauchy. We elected the following officers: Elmer Beal, President; Janet Wass, Vice-President; Sandra Berry, Secretary; and George Trask, Treasurer. Our Student Council representatives were Janet Wass and Lee Wilbur. Our Sophomore year started out with fun. We initiated the in- coming freshmen which was fun for all. Under the direction of Mr. Crafts we elected Elmer Beal, President; Janet Wass, Vice- President; Sandra Berry, Secretary; and Judy Rich, Treasurer. The Student Council representatives were Maureen Bryant and James Harkins. We also sold popcorn, potato chips, and pro- grams for the basketball games at the first of the year to supple- ment our class treasury. This year we published the school paper, The Pow Wow . Our Junior year was a busy one indeed. The biggest event was our Junior Prom. Music was supplied by The Coasters . Although the prom was a lot of work, it was enjoyed by all. This year it was our turn to put out the Pemetic , which was a hard and strenuous job. Our class officers were as follows: Elmer Beal, President; Janet Wass, Vice-President; Ruth Ann Grindle, Secretary; and Judy Rich, Treasurer. The Student Council rep- resentatives were James Harkins and James Sawyer. In the fall of 1960, we returned to Pemetic for our last year. We elected Elmer Beal as our President; George Trask, Vice- President; Judy Rich, Treasurer; and Ruth Ann Grindle, Sec- retary Our Student Council representatives were Patty White and James Sawyer. We began by selling candy for our class treasury. We presented the senior play, Great Caesar's Ghost , under the direction of Mr. Quint, our class advisor. It was a three-act comedy and was enjoyed by all. Now, as graduation is drawing near, we are making plans for next year. The four years we have spent at Pemetic as a class have been full of activities and events that will remain as memories forever. JOANN HANCOCK
