The Senior Class Play, The Travelin' Ghost, was a three-act mystery-comedy. A quiet tourist home near the Canadian border provided the perfect setting for tourists, spirits, and smugglers to clash amid shrieks of fear. Suspense mounted quickly when Hank Adams, a young detective, was knocked unconscious and dragged behind a secret panel by one of Miss Delaney's ghosts. The umbrella wielding Aunt Hilda brought down the house after thwarting the smug- gler and ghost with her final words, I always say. 'A body'never knows when an umbrella will come in handy. Senior Class History In the fall of 1956, our class began its first year of high school at Pemetic. Though our studies kept us busy, we also had a lot of fun - especially when Freshman Initiation rolled a- round on September 21. On that fateful day we were made to suffer under the hands of the merciless Sophomores who made us obey their every command. Each boy wore a dress, a blouse tied in front, a bathing cap, and one nylon stocking; and each girl, a leather jacket, a skirt upside down, a shoe box on her head, and men's slippers. Both boys and girls wore big F’s painted on their foreheads with lipstick. Of course we all felt ridiculous; but we had a wonder- ful time just the same, and we all looked forward to die next year when we would be the Mas- ters and the Freshmen our “Slaves”. Our class advisor was Mr. Stadden and we elected the following class officers: Leighton Wass, president, William Carroll, vice-president, Steven Her- rick, secretary, and Louise Robbins, treasurer. Student Council representatives were Brenda Reed and Dennis Ellis. Our total enrollment was 51 and the class was well represented in all extracurricular activities. Our Sophomore Year proved to be a busy one. Our total enrollment in September was forty- eight, but we later lost five. Freshman Reception, that big event we had all been looking for- ward to, was held on September 20. At our first class meeting we elected die following officers: Kenneth Beal, president, Steven Herrick, vice-president, Myrna Stanley, treasurer, and Susan Bunker, secretary. Our student council representatives were William Carroll and Karen Clark. Mr. Crafts was our faculty advisor. Our class participated in many extracurricular activities. During the year we sold popcorn, potato chips, and pretzels. We also became journalists, for it was our task to print the POW-WOW. We opened our Junior Year with forty-one members. Miss Vickery and Miss Inman were our co-advisors. We elected the following officers: Leighton Wass, president, Dennis Ellis, vice- president, Myrna Stanley, secretary, and Karen Clark, treasurer. The student council represent- atives were Steven Herrick and Korel Hupper. The class was well represented in all extracurri- cular activities. The biggest event of the year was the Junior Prom, our first formal dance. We also sold pop at basketball games and published the PEMETIC . We began our final year at Pemetic with thirty-nine members. With Mr. Crafts as our class advisor, we elected the following officers: Dennis Ellis, president, Leighton Wass, vice- president, Susan Bunker, secretary, and Karen Clark, treasurer. William Carroll and Bonnie Joyce were elected student council representatives. Members of our class participated in all extracurricular activities. On October 23 we presented the Senior Play, The Traveling Ghost . It was a three-act mystery comedy directed by Mr. Quint and Mr. Mackensen. Members of the cast had a lot of fun, and on the whole, the play was a great success. Four long hard years have passed since our first day at Pemetic, and now graduation is ap- proaching. How we used to long for this event and how far away it seemed to be. But it is no longer a dream of the future; it has become real, and although we are all excited about grad- uation and are making plans for the future, we will never forget our wonderful years at Pemetic. MRYNA STANLEY
