SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Of the forty-tive members who started in the Freshman Class in 1944, twenty- nine are now graduating. As the last days of our happy four years at Pemetic come to a close, we recall with great joy and satisfacton the fun we've had and the people we've met. XfVe soon had members of our class representing us in several activities. Rodney Webster, Bill Searls, and Dick Allen were a part of the basketball squad, with Barbara Kenney, Katharine Benson and Edith XVorcester as cheerleaders to help make the noise at the games. Marilyn Carroll and Edith 'Worcester took part in the jun'or Prize Speaking Exhibition while four of our more talented members, Arthur Moore, Vance Frost, Dick Allen and Barbara Kenney took part in the Jamboree. The class picnic at Echo Lake in june brought to a happy close our Freshman year at Pemetic. VVhen school opened in September we had an enrollment of thirty-nine in the Sophomore class. The first big event on our calendar was the imtiation we gave the Freshmen. Dick Allen and Art Moore were again members of the varsity basketball squad and Bob Closson was on the junior varsity team. Katharine Benson, Edith VVor- cester, and Barbara Kenney were again chosen to be cheerleaders. Nancy Spurling and Shirley jones were on the junior varsity cheerleading squad. This year Allison Bunker was the high salesman for the school during the magazine drive. Only one member of our class was in Public Speaking this year. Edith Worces- ter represented us in this and the Senior Play, too. The nine members of our class on the National Honor Society were Richard Allen, Vance Frost, Shirley jones, Clarence LaCount, Arthur Moore, XVilliam Searls, Rodney VVebster, Ralph Stanley, and Edith VVorcester. NfVe are very proud of the honors we attained in inter-class games that year. The boys won the Inter- scholastic Football t't1e and the girls brought home the bacon in the form of the Inter-scholastic Basketball title. Dick Allen, Art Moore, and Bill Searls represented our class on the varsity basketball squad again this year with Vance Frost as their most able manager. Shirley Kelley played on the junior varsity squad. Varsity cheerleaders were again Katharine Benson, Edith VVorcester, Barbara Kenney, and newly elected Jean Boomer. In junior Prize Speaking, our class was well represented by Katharine Benson, Marilyn Carroll, jean Boomer, and Edith Wforcester. Edith won second place this year and of course we were very proud.
