May Day May Day 1972 was jointly sponsored by Psi Gamma Nu Sorority and the Sociology Department. The event was highlighted by an all day Earth Day and a crowning of a May Queen Earth Day, May Day was a celebra- tion of the awa- kening of the stu- dents of PSU to the importance of Eco- logy ' and a sorority project to raise funds for cerebral palsy. The event was very suc- cessful, collecting over S400. 00 for the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. The May Queen 1972 was ' ickie Ransom and 1st runner up was Mar ' Ellen Hinson. Ivhss V ' ickie Ransom was crowned the first Miss May Queen of PSU.
