He has served on the Student Advisory Committee to the President, Food Service Committee, Disciplinary Committee and has been a Hall Counselor and President of the Stu- dent Government. Mr. Clark plans to go into the field of marketing. Miss Darlene Ketner, a Business Administration major from Maggie Valley. N. C. has worked with the Drama Department in the production of Twelve Angry Jurors, has served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Student Government and Feature Editor of the college yearbook, has been a member of the Student Advisory Commute to the President and the Disciplinary Committee, a Miss P.S.C. and Miss Indianhead finalist, and an Accounting Lab Assistant. Miss Ketner plans a career in the Accounting field. 36 Miss Barbara J. Maurar, a Home Economics ma|or, has served as Junior Class Representative and Girls Dormitory Representative to the Student Government and Treasurer and First Vice-Chair- man of the Home Economics Club, has partici- pated in Girls Intramurals, and has been a mem- ber of SNEA and Westminister Fellowship. Miss Maurer, who Is from Aberdeen, N. C, plans to go Into interior decorating. Mr. Frank Baker, a Physical Education major from Franklin Square, New York, has been an active member and President ol Circle K. Mr. Baker has also been a part ot the soccer team. Mr. Baker plans to continue in his field of study. who ' s who in american colleges and universities Mrs. Lillian McRae Bunch of Laurinburg, North Carolina, has served as Secretary of the Home Economics Club and has been an active member of the Natural Science Club Mrs. Bunch, a Home Economics major, will continue work in her field. Mr. Larry T. Haynes, a Chemistry major from Camden, South Carolina, has served as a College Marshal, Chief Dormitory Counselor, Social Representative to the Student Government, and Treasurer and President of Phi Sigma Chi and has been a member of the Stu- dent Affairs Committee, Food Ser- vice Committee, Constitutional Com- mittee, Student Activities Com- mittee and Student Advisory Com- mittee to the President. Mr. Haynes plans to do graduate studies in Chemistry. The Fine Arts Series strives to instill in each student an appreciation of drama, music, and literature. This year, students had the pleasure of seeing such fine pro- ductions as The Lute Song and Cy- rano De Bergerac. The celebrated pianists, Nelson and Neal, and the poet, William Jay Smith, were also a part of the Fine Arts Series. 39 ten little indians Pembroke State College is very fortunate in having a most active drama department. Under the direction of Mr. Al Dunavan, the drama department presented Ten Little Indians and South Pacific this year. 40 The Best Dressed Coed Contest is sponsored nationally by Glamour magazine and locally by the college newspaper staff. The local winner is eligible for national com- petition, in which ten girls will be chosen as national winners. The Braves went to Lynchburg College for the NAIA track championship. As one coach said, They came to run. They did just that in winning the cham- pionship and Pembroke ' s Jay Wilhelm was voted outstanding player.
