Thus, this Yearbook should be a composite portrait of the individuals - the student body, the faculty, the staff, and the odministration - who lived this period of Pembroke State College ' s history. Too, it should identify the various campus groups -academic, athletic, class, political, social, end spiritual - through vyhich the individuals functioned. In addition, it slvsuld carefully portray the activities, while defining the purposes, of all these groups composing campus life. Incidentafly in the process, the ma- terial aspects of the college - its .laboratories. Its classrooms, its libraries, its total facilities -should be recorded. But, mo significantly,-the manner in and the degree to which these ends are achieved by a Yearbook Staff give ' meritorious insights into those values which the institution is inculcating within its students. ' % A preview of the 1960 Indianhead indicates that the Staff fulfilled its obligation Well . Their efforts warrant the warmest congratulations of the entire College Community. « Sincerely, Walter J. With spirit striving from within. And, Coach, teach us as we live and learn To expect only what we rightly earn Quitting never; though discouraged, be Ever true to self, to team, to Thee, Keep us clean in speech and thought. In doing, and in living as we ought. Of hate and envy keep us free. For more discerning men that we. Prepare us now in friendly strife On the playing field of life. And someday.
