Pembroke State College has extended to each of you many Doors to Opportunity. The Opportunities are in- numerable - varied as to nature and kind. . ■' ■■v .,; ' ' Unfortunately, these Doors open not to guaranteed achievements, but to opportunity only. Opportunity has bee s a favorable circumstances . Although the college establishes an ideal environment for learning, it is necessary for you, the student, to bring many elements to this Combination of Circumstances . You must bring an extensive experiential background, supplemented by interest, enthus- iasm, energy, ambition, and numberless other positive attributes. Unless a student does bring these combination of circumstances designated as oppor- tunity, she shall not attain succes Your presence here at responsibility for pr nts essential to learning which only the student can contribute. You will profit to the degree to which you effect your contribution; your contribution will be a sound, if indirect, measure of your attainment. The State of North Carolina has provided superior physical facilities for your study, excellent teachers for the guidance of your academic endeavors, and a total institutional situation which is optimal for your personal development - intellectual, social, and spiritual. Yours is the challenge to fully establish the right combination of circumstances to make this your true opportunity. - - a n i M CD,: Walter §. Qale President yfames . yfacoLs Registrar .
