Greetings From The President The expression of thanks to the Staff of the INDIANHEAD for their indefatigable labors on the 1956 yearbook is not a mere routine chore. Rather it is a feeble effort to say some of the thoughts that may assure them of our deep appreciation of their work . A work of art such as this book is not just so many pictures, so many names , etc. , placed here for record. Here is found a synthesis of all those ideas that have gone into the work of this year. Out of the experiences of life at its growing edge have come forth the weaving of this fabric. Ella Wheeler Wilcox In our search for a theme for the 1956 INDIANHEAD, we became fascinated by the parade of the many hands which have played and are playing a great part in our college life - and in our lives to be The toiling hands of our forefathers , The helping hands of state officials, The moulding hands of teachers , The loving hands of parents , The guiding hands of friends. The planning hands of trustees. The recording hands of writers. The friendly hands of fellow students. The building hands of architects , The well-wishing hands of relatives. The encouraging hands of alumni. The trusting hands of the younger gen- eration , The praying hands of loved ones. The unseen hands of countless bene- factors , All joining forces to give us the best that life has to offer at Pembroke State College . With this in mind we chose as our theme, HANDS. May these pages of history of the ac- complishments of many hands keep alive in our memories the true spirit of P.S.C.
