SENIOR CLASS HISTORY We feel as a class that our history cannot be separated from the history of the College during the past four years. Whatever the College has been or done, we feel that we have been a part of it and that that is really our history. Whether it has been progress in the academic field or in the field of sports, we have been a part of this progress. We have witnessed a phenomenal growth of the College during the past four years, not only a growth of the physical plant, but a growth as well in the other things that go to make up a College. Our history here has been one of transition. We have been changing during the past four years. From the confused and indifferent little band of four years ago, we have grown into a confi- dent and determined group. We now have an aim and a realization of pur- pose in life. Some of these Seniors will be remembered for some special work he or she did while passing this way. Jesse Oxendine perhaps will be re- membered for his ability with a Trumpet or for his feats on the gridiron. Barto Clark will leave memories of his efficient work as head of the Stu- dent Council, or his ability as an actor, or even his absence from the head of the Dean ' s List will be noted. A promising Vocalist leaves in the person of Vernon Ray Thompson. Others of the Senior Class of 1950 will be remembered for different things, but in one thing we are agreed. For those who come after us, we wish for them even greater growth and greater success than even we the Senior Class of 1950 has achieved. 13
