The purpose of the Pontiac Literary Society is that of developing the various talents and abil- ities in public speak: ng, dramatics, and leadership. Public speaking is emphasized and practiced more than any other activity. Each year a debating team from the Pontiac Literary Society meets with a debating team from the Emeritan Literary Society as a climax of the year ' s work.
