yy 1' Tlqfyziy --JV lnder the dlrectlon of Mr Ed Steffen superlntendent of bulldmgs and ground approxlmately 9522 000 was spent for the lnstallatlon of new educatlonal faclhtles and the lmproyement of the plant at Pem Day The larger portlon of the approprlatlons was directed toward Ashley Hall ln the form of a new laboratory Installed on the second floor of the south wlnf Thrs lab IQ the cllmax of much tlme and effort both ln constructlon and the amasslng of funds The cost was about 38 000 spent for the refurmshmg of the old boardlng rooms the nlne new lab desks, and the Alumnl hood through which all harmful gases are exhausted from the room Varlous school actlvxtles such as the paper sales plus several clue mmded lndustrles donated some of the money but we haye malnly to thank the Parents and Alumm assouatlons which for the past two years haye worked hard for Its constructlon The thlrd floor also underwent great change as the new sixth grade class room and all musical actlvltles room and all muslcal actlxltles were mow ed to the opposlte end of the hall mto a larger room equlpped to handle not only the mlddle school but also all the needs of the Glee Club The Ralder and Hllltop offlces were moved to the basement and two new classrooms created ln the spaces vacated The llbrary 14 now where the old lab used to be while rooms I4 and I5 were tomblned to produce one large study and assembly hall Partltlons were erected ln rooms 21 and 26 to utxllze excess space and ln the basement a sulte converted for the use of semors completed the work done m the mam bulldmg NCC6SQlt3lCd by the lncreased enrollment a wall was remosed ln the basement of the gym and m the enlarged room, forty two new lockers were Installed It IS evident that much has been done bv the school to meet the needs of an ever mcreaslng student body' and to keep pace with the advancements of modern educatlon 9 'Af :'f ,M-an :fa ' ' f fffvwf M ff' ' ' M , , ,, , y V, ,i X .hy , ,ally , ,,r, , , ,Wy , I 'W , ,lf V ' ff t . , . - - 5.
