learningthrough communication Communication” is the key word to today’s society. The English Department’s goal is to help students ac- quire knowledge in communication and comprehension. From understanding how great authors of the past and present communicate their ideas to how we can effec- tively present ours are the steps to gaining skill in the use of our language. Specialized courses are offered at Pem- broke. Journalism enables a student to gain knowledge and experience in publishing a newspaper.
