Biggers, Kathleen Fowler, Denise Bilodeau, Susan Desrosiers, Martha Bilodeau, Advisor, Miss Clark. The Whittemore Chapter of the National Honor Society is composed of 18 members of the junior and senior classes. Its purposes and ideals are based upon character, scholarship, leadership and service. During the course of the school year the National Honor Society is engaged in many activities to promote these things throughout the school and community. These activities included one of Carl Desuz's lectures, the making of Christmas baskets and the awarding of scholarships. 50

ORGANIZATIONS STUDENT COUNCIL FOREGROUND: Sandra Harris, Secretary: Richard Morrill, Treasurer. FIRST ROW: April Ol- son, Carmen Coulombe, Patricia Stone, Margo Morgan, Jacqueline Martel, Vice-President: James Boudreau, President: Elaine Demers, Sheila Roy, Kristine Paulsen, William Boud- reau. SECOND ROW: Carolee Little, Donna Wells, Joan Hinchliffe, Patricia Biggers, Sharlene Bryant, Roy Annis, Mr. Birch, Advisor. The Student Council is one of the functional bodies of the school. lts purpose is to form a closer relationship between the faculty and the student body: a supportive organization rather than an administrative. One of its major functions is to conduct our annual Winter Carnival and the annual candy sale for the Athletic Association. Membership is electorial and class apportionment is based upon seniority. Our eighteen members include six sen- iors, five juniors, four sophomores and three freshmen. 51
