HENRIETTE GIRARD Mrs. Girard has been with us through all of our four years at the Academy. During this time, she has never once let us down. During the excitement of the Winter Carnival, the hard work of the Junior Prom, and the planning for fund-raising activities, she has worked fully as hard as any of us. Mrs. G. has also been a personal friend to whom we could take our troubles. For all this, and much more, we wish to thank Mrs. Girard. MR. HERBERT PETELLE Mr. Petelle became our class advisor only two years ago, but already we have come to depend upon his sympathetic ear and his constructive suggestions. During the Carni- val activities he gave us great moral support and during the decorating for the Junior Prom he stayed with the hardest workers until 4:15 Saturday morning! Our most sincere thanks to you, Mr. Petelle, for donating your time and efforts to our final years at the Academy. MR, GEORGE COFRAN, Chairman Board of Trustees MR. For four years we have been preparing for that moment. Each of us has had time to decide our own futures. This may mean nothing to you underclassmen, but when you become Seniors you will understand what l am trying to say. Never let high school be just a place you attend one hundred and eighty days out of the year. Your future will depend upon what you have accomplished during your high school days. We have thought many times about what it was like for the seniors who preceeded us. Now we are about to become a part of that tradition and you, the underclassmen, will then have your chance to become seniors. As my last duty I would like to urge each student to prepare for his own graduation and role in life. That means, learn what you can from Pembroke Academy as you will soon be on'your own and need to make mature judgments. Take care and God bless you, WMP President 'Q is RICHARD BIRON GARY LITTLE KATHY rosren JoAN Hlucnurre SANDRA HARRIS 14 JAMES BOUDREAU PAUL LECLAIR RICHARD MORRILL MARGO MORGAN KRISTINE PAULSEN 15 E521 iw, R422 ,L T51-f 'ig IRENE ABBOTT CAROL ALLAIRE THOMAS AYERS SUZANNE SAUCIER THERESA BEAULIEU ROBERT BACON LORRAINE BAILLARGEON SUSAN BARIL BONNIE BETTIS MARY-EVELYN BIGGERS DENISE BILODEAU MARTHA BILODEAU I 7 N SONJA BJORNSTAD SUSAN BOUCHARD ANITA BRISBOIS ERNEST CALL ELIZABETH MORIN RONALD VALLEY LORRAINE BOULET JOYCE BOYNTON JAMES BUMFORD EDYTHE CHILDS DONALD CONNOR TIMOTHY WARREN nzznnxnaf --www NM-nn 1.31 wufnmsnun- J MARGARET CUTTER BETTY CYR SUSAN DESROSIERS WILLIAM DIONNE- ROBERT DROLET SUSAN FOSS ,, : Va i . SCIENCE SOCIETY A A X During its three years of existence the Science Society has fs initiated a School Science Fair which compares favorably with fx J S fs 5 those of other schools of similar size. Three projects from phys- JL, X' ics and biology were selected at the School Fair and were sent to the State Fair and all three received honorable mention. The 0 Lf proceeds from a car wash and wax added to the already plump treasury. Films and guest speakers on careers in Science will be made available to Society members throughout the year and field trips will be taken. Through the activities of the Society, each member gains a clearer concept of the importance of sci- ence in society today. TOP ROW: Gerard Dauteuil, fManagersj Bruce Kimball and Richard Frank Tozier, Russell Mosses, Edgar Hartford, William Lefebvre. MIDDLE ROW: fCoachJ Ronald Rush, Robert Boudreau, and Douglas Mosses. The Spartan soccer team produced the best record in four years with much of the credit due to coach Ronald Rush who inspired the footmen to work harder than ever. This years record was six wins, three losses and three ties which earned us the Central New Hampshire trophy for the I Division. The high scorers for the season were Jim Bumford and Bruce McCornish. A credit to this successful season goes also to the de- fense who permitted but one goal per game and the offense who aver- aged two goals per game. The underclassmen showed much enthusiasm for the game and should have a good season next year. We wish them the very best. The Pembroke hooters were co-captained this year by sen- iors Rick Biron and Jim Bumford. Other seniors on the team were Paul Vezina, Rick Morrill, Robert A. Richard, Jim Boudreau, and Ed Hartford. 62 Varsity Basketball FRONT ROW! BFUCB MCCOmiSl'I, Paul Velifla. C0-Captain Ellis Bob Kelsea Maurice Lavertue Jody Keeler Doug Robert A. BACK ROW: Coach Pete Kaligan, Gordon The Varsity Basketball squad exhibited spirit and en- thusiasm as they achieved one of the best records in recent years. High scorer for the team was Rick Mor- rill who surpassed the 1000 point mark in his high school career and set many school scoring records averaging about 40 points per game. The team is well reserved with three sophomores making frequent ap- pearances. Co-captains for this years team were sen- iors Rick Morrill and Robert A. Richards. Other sen- iors contributing to the Spartan success were Mau- rice Lavertue, Paul Vezina, and Jim Boudreau, Cheer Kris Paulsen Sonia Blornsfad Diane Lajoi Sue Bullard Martha Bilodeau Sue DGSYOCIGFS Denice Bilodeau Captain Denice Bilodeau Manager Terri Destadio Coach Mrs. Snell fu Leaders Ellen Chase, Judy LaFortune Donna Wells, Judy Duford A Elaine Hamilton Diana Chalko Carolee Little Pat Stone Alternate Laura Parsons Captain Diana Chalko Girls' Basketball FRONT: Co-captains Gloria Beauchesne, Marie Jacob. Childs, Sandra Harris, Ginny Preve, Manager, Betty Cyr. The female Spartans had an enviable record this year under the Co-captainship of Marie Jacob and Gloria Beauchesne and great coaching of Mrs. Tunnell. Their passing and defense this year was second to none. Their only wish was a twin sister to Rick Morrill who would have made everyone's assignment easier. Their hustle and determination still won them a majority of contests on their twelve game schedule. Seniors on the squad were Sandra Harris, Ginny Preve, Edythe Childs, and Anita Brisbois. 66 J.V. Basketball FRONT ROW: Bill Stanley, Dennis Nolan, Ron Buffard, Keeler, John Perron, Pete LaClair, Tom Hummer, Car Mike Yeaton, Captain Bill Biron, Bill Raymond, Don son Wells, Larry Whipple, Brent Perkens, Larry Yeaton Raymond, Steve Bosiack, Dennis Duford, Roy Annis. Sumner Dole, Manager Bill Boudreau. SECOND ROW: Coach Pete Kaligian, Bob Dole, Dwight Captain Bill Biron The Junior Varsity hoopmen did not turn out an excep- tional year due to the lack of game experienced per- sonnel on the squad. Three of last year's starting freshmen are playing varsity this year, which has left them extremely handicapped. Under the mentorship of captain Bill Biron and coach Kaligian they have ad- vanced noticably and the abundancy of freshmen predicts success in future years. 67 I Senior Biography IRENE GAIL ABBOTT Gail United States Navy LIKES: Dances, swimming, boys.
