URING THE YEAR ye-leaders met once a month in the home- making room and discussed plans over their vittles. Certain active members of the student council showed the sights to interested parents during National Education Week. The council introduced the selling of semester tickets for all medicine shows that stopped in Pella this year, thereby saving stu- dents a good deal of goldnuggets. An appointed committee had a secret conference with the powers-that-be concernin' the important dooty of gradin' citizenship. In true democratic style Jack Cook was chosen presidentg Elaine Vander Ploeg, vice-presidentg and Louise Rysdam, secretary- treasurer. 10

HE HONORARY SOCIETY, organized in 1945, has thirty-one members, all of whom have at least a B average in their readin', 'ritin, and 'rithmetic On November 19, new members were welcomed into the society. A new and different type of initiation was planned for this year. During a candlelight ceremony the officers were installed by Mr. Buerkens. Miss Gosselink related the history of the Honor Society and Miss Ver Heul, sponsor, closed with prayer. The oiiicers were: President, Peggy Leug Vice President, Leo Selsg Secretary, Delores Swankg Student Council Representative, Marvin De Heus. 11
