The Club met when- ever possible on Wednesday evening with the members taking turns sewing refreshments. During the month of January a display was arranged in the show case of the old school building. Model racers, airplanes, boats, and other items were shown. Jet races were often held as a form of entertainment. New members are always welcome. 53

HE SECOND YEAR of the publication of The Echo brought many changes to the school paper. First of all, there is the course in Journalism which serves as a guide for all Echo staffers. This class met three times per Week during the first semester and twice per week during the second semester. Mr. Kamp served as faculty advisor. The greatest impetus during the year was the Quill and Scroll Charter which was granted to The Echo early in November. The paper has also been increased in size. Special columns, features, and a sports section have been added. Subscriptions for The Echo were not sold this year. Certain issues were sold by the students while others were distributed among the congregations at large. Advertising was the chief source of fi- nances. L15100 was also received from the board and S50 from Mr. Andreas of Cedar Rapids. 52
