A plumber working overtime, With charges huge and nerve sublime, Arnold's future plain I see, A very wealthy man he'll be. At speaking up she does quite well, She's fascinated by the invention of Bell, On switchboards from the Atlantic to the Pacific The connections Martena makes are really terrific He argues morning, noon, and night And wins, if he be wrong or rightg So Howard, the faithful student Will be a lawyer famed and prudent. Cathryn, with her locks of Goldg May someday make fortunes untold. Through Hairglo, Luster-locks, or Sheen A shampoo advertisement Queen. With gestures wise and voice intense At speaking pieces She's immense So Thelma at an early age Will soon become the nation's rage. Helping others their burdens to bear, The worries of friends are Elizabeth's care Aiding the poor, wretched and blind A social worker, loving and kind. Young Alvin has great ambition He'l1 be a wily politician To Congress by admirers sent And next, perhaps, be President. Johnnie's scientific ideas are amazing His interest is in telescopic gazing He'll purchase the telescope on Mt. Palomar And tell the world of some new star. Frances will be an artist who Will mural decorations do And be, as well, a portrait painter Who'll make poor Rembrandt's glory fainter. Her fertile brain and ready wit Proclaim at once the job she'd fit Margaret will write the perfect story Thus covering herself with glory. Gerrit, whose face ne'er reflects a frown Was just cut out to be a clown. He'll roam the country entertaining And use his wit while wealth he's gaining. A teacher of dramatics in Michigan U. A thespian who'll never miss her cue. Is Dorothy Dahm, though active she be For a lesson in acting, will charge quite a fee. When you take a trip on a rocket to Mars Before you leave for the land of the stars, Among the stewardesses, you will meet Evelyn De Bruin, so prim and neat. At cooking and sewing Reuvena's a corker Or driving tractors or raising porkers A farmer's wife sheis bound to be And very soon, just wait and see. 24

Ruth Vroon a girl of charm and grace Whose virtues are reflected in her face, Will live in peace and plenty all her life, A housekeeper de luxe and happy wife. Albert always up in the air. Who loves to take chances and perils to dare, Will very soon be a world famed aviator As noted as Lindbergh, perhaps even greater. Some future day as you turn the dial: You will linger and listen awhile To Betty a soap opera star, The housewife's choice, she's known afar. Not fond herself of overwork, She can't endure that others shirk, So Dot Kaldenberg will run with glee A great employment agency. Back and forth to school she drove Through muddy roads and Peoria's snows, And in the future you will see Lois at the wheel of a fast taxi. Our friend Judy has a very small voice, But great big emotions and diction quite choice So she'll be a radio crooner some day, And sob all her troubles in ether away. A basketball coach she's going to be A champion team she'll coach, just see And when she does, the crowd, I'1l bet Will all be yelling for our Jeanette. 23

Class Will We the seniors of Pella Christian High School of Nineteen Hundred and For- ty-nine, with full knowledge of our statements and ideas, and not under the influ- ence of anyone, declare this to be our last will and testament. Article I We appoint Mr. Paul De Jong chief executor of this our will. We nominate the Board as overseers and trustees to carry out the bequests and statements as we have written them. Article II The teachers: To Rev. Huizenga we will all our past pleasure of the four years of our high school work. His kindness will not soon be forgotten. To Mrs. Brouwers we will all our typing errors. She receives but few. To Mr. Kamp we will our Sociology work books as well as their unit tests. To Mrs. Roskamp we will our do re me's and hope she will have better success on them next year. To Mr. Muyskens we will all our winning basketball games. To Mr. De Jong we will all our History quizzes and book reports. Article III Each of us, as seniors, wills the following: Frances Slings wills her singing ability to Margaret Tibboel. Ruth Vroon bequeaths her long skirts to Evelyn Van Hal. Albert Rouw leaves his privilege of writing term papers and essays to Duane Sjaardema. Judy Bouma wills her quietness to Eleanor Vander Wilt who could prob- ably pipe down at times. Dorothy Kaldenberg wills her ability to get along with the boys to Lena Brouwer. Gerrit Roozeboom wills his talent of telling jokes and getting around the teachers to Francis De Jong. Elizabeth Kole leaves to Bonna Nibbelink her seat in the study hall at noon hours. Margaret Rus leaves her good behavior to Chick Kaldenberg. Arnold Dahm wills his red hair to Lawrence Borst. Dorothy Dahm wills a couple of inches of her height to Zelda Jansen. Thelma Van Zee wills her dark locks to all the blondes who find a liking for them. Lois Hoksbergen wills her driving ability over Peoria roads to Iris De Jong. Martena Vander Molen leaves her contagious giggle to Donna Van Gorp. Reuvena Dieleman leaves her Sunday evening dates to Beatrice Roose. John Gosselink leaves his skill with the basketball to Gysbert Menninga. Jeanette Beekhuizen wills her typing speed to anyone who needs it. Howard Groenendyk leaves all his argumentations of Reformed Doctrine class to John D. Van Zomeren. Betty Dahlin wills her ready Wit to Ruth Kooi. Bill Dlieleman not only leaves Pella Christian High but Pella and vicinity as we l. Evelyn De Bruin wills her position as hall monitor to Reuvena Zylstra with the faculty's consent. Cathryn Vander Molen wills her work as librarian to Anna Mae De Vries. Alvin De Jong wills his fast rides on the school bus to next year's fresh- men. 25
