 CLASS HISTORY It's hard to believe but as seniors we have now spent ap- proximately 2,100 days in school. A few of these days were spent at home with a tummy ache, the chicken pox, or the dreaded flu, but for the most part our school days have been exciting, challenging and full of surprises. We have gained reading, writing and arithmetic. Even on our first day of school, we were given our most difficult assignment — the art of friendship. Throughout the years we have continued to build and add new friendships both in and out of school. Along with friendship, we have learned responsibility and how to think for ourselves, a feat not easily achieved. As everyone knows, in grade school life was a breeze. The only hassles were catching the bus and force feeding yourself at the lunch table. Once we began junior high, life changed drastically. We were now able to participate in all those activi- ties that the “big kids did. Pep fests, dances, sports, speech, FFA, FHA, and others, just to name a few, always took priority over our supposed studying time. As sophomores we were able to experience the excitement of the state basketball tournament in St. Paul. The beginning of our junior year started with a magazine drive and the receiving of our class rings. Our Prom, “When I'm With You , ended our junior year as we said good- bye to our senior buddies. Finally, ... a senior. Looking back we can remember how Scott Dutcher and Rick Bengtson became trees after ninth grade or how Rachelle Thorson and Sheri King used to be tomboys or how bearded Tim Bigelow could ever have been Tiny Tim. Yes, we've changed a bit but we're still the Class of '86. The robes, caps and diplomas will feel great but there will surely be come tears at the same time. We'll remember Trygstad's smile, Matheson's meter stick, Tabbut's laugh, Bredell's announcements with Viking pride is riding high today , the great cheering section at the volley- ball games, early morning gatherings at Perkins, Homecoming Queen Janice, Sweetheart Dance, and more. From the Class of '86, a great big thank you goes to all, to the teachers, administration, faculty, and underclassmen who have influenced, helped and befriended us for so many years.
