Activities, events, and excite- ment filled our school during our 1985 Homecoming week. Each day was designated with a special theme and students dressed accord- ingly. Monday, September 16, was Athletic Day. That evening the vol- leyball team won their game at Au- dubon. Dress-Up-Day and coronation were on Tuesday's agenda. Mr. Rex Haugen, homecoming speaker, en- couraged us to follow our dreams. Mistress of Ceremonies, Sheri King and Julie Walkin, entertained the audience with stories about the Queen candidates, Janice Haar- stick, J.J. Meder, and Jeanie Strom. Tension mounted as last years Queen, Tina Hunter, crowned Ja- nice Haarstick the 1985 Homecom- ing Queen. Wednesday was marked by Ce- lebrity Day. Many Senior girls dressed in togas to imitate Julius Caeser. Thursday's Nerd Day was followed by a home Volleyball match with Dilworth. Although our team lost, the cheering section of fans and Vikingmen main- tained its spirit with yells of Areeba. School spirit was demonstrated on Friday as students dressed in or- ange and black (Color Day) and prepared for the game during the hour long pepfest. The Vikings lost the football game to the Frazee Hornets, 29 to 8. Homecoming week came to an end as alumni, classmates, and guests danced to ''Music on Wheels.
