CLASS HISTORY A story began in the fall of 1968. The characters were one hundred frightened five-year olds and the setting was a massive brick building. Those frightened five-year olds had one goal in common; through learning and growing, they would one day graduate as the class of 1981. Back then, our main concerns were getting picked for gray duck and who to roll our rug out by for nap time. Our concerns may be different now, but our goal is realized for we are the class of 1981. Since then we've made memories that we can reflect back on and either laugh, cry, or both. Here are a few of these memorable happenings . . . The sixth grade trip to Minneapolis . . . getting lost in the big school on our first day in seventh grade . . . soc-hops ■ . . your first kiss . . . being in the senior high . . . going to dances with live bands . . . getting your drivers license . . ■ dragging main . . . Mr. Matheson's Cast you into the outer darkness! . . . parties (birthday, slumber, etc ...).. . basketball games . . . cramming for tests ... U of M Band Day . . . choir, band, and art trips . . . football games . . . class rings . . . our Junior magazine drive . . . gymnastic meets . . . pediddling . . . planning our perfect prom, YJhen You Remember Me , and decorating in only three days . . . track meets . . . and then our Senior Year . . . Torgil, our fiddle playing Swede . . . started a new tradition of Homecoming with coronation on Monday night and having Queen Julie reign over festivities all week . . . Halloween Hammerfest . . . Harriet's . . . Volleyball games . . . the Stone Bull . . . no student lounge . . . student mock presidential election ... the musical Sing Out Sweet Land . . . being rowdy in the parking lot at noon . . . speech meets . . . wrestling matches . . . Smiley's speeches . . . Blow it Off . . . skip days . . . Senior Dinner Dance . . . final exams . . . May 28 .. . the laughter, tears, and memories that come with growing. To sense the past, touch a stone; To capture the moment, touch a flower; To win the future, touch a friend. The years have gone fast and have left us with wonderful memories and friendships to cherish. However the story that began in 1968 does not yet draw to a close once we have received our diplomas. We now have our own paths to follow and our own goals to achieve. We, the Class of 1981, wish to thank our friends, teachers, and parents for making the years at P.R.H.S. so memorable and wonderful. Also, we wish for our friends the best always! Friends Always, The Class of 1981 17
