Guess Who? 18

Class History Twelve years ago over a hundred scared boys and girls walked into a room and said hello to each other for the first time. There wasn't a single boy with hair over a quarter-inch long, nor was there a girl present who wasn't clad in stretch pants. Now, twelve years later, over a hundred men and women will soon have to go through the ordeal of saying good-bye to each other for the last time. Except for having different things to fear, most of us will be as scared on that last day as we were on the first. However, one thing we will all have in our favor is the memory of friends. Friends who were there to pick us up when we were down. Friends who helped us to help ourselves. Maybe the memories of friends that we counted on will help us when they are no longer there. We have so many memories. Do you remember when we were peach-fuzzy, smock-sporting sophomores? Leading us that year were Mike Westby-Pres.; Mary Sather-Vice Pres.; Nancy Di llon-Student Council Rep.; Peggy Edwardson-Sec.; and Eileen Strandlen-Treasurer. The first place prize in homecoming float competition was won by our class. Our homecoming attendants were Jody Lynnes and Denise Hexum, escorted by Ross Seifert and Tim Bakken. Our Junior year was so hectic it's a wonder we made it through. In the annual magazine drive, our class set a new record in the number of subscriptions sold. We teamed together to make the prom theme, Precious and Few , a reality. Our speaker at the banquet was Keith Randklev and music was provided at the dance by Clown. Many members of our class participated in the musical, Music Man . Homecoming was highlighted by a victory over Elbow Lake. The junior attendants representing us were Denise Hexum and Darleen Fettig, es- corted by Richie Ness and Mike Westby. Our hard working class officers that year were Connie Si I lerud-Pres.; Paul Strand-Vice Pres.; Denise Hexum-Sec.; Darleen Fettig-Student Council Rep.; and Richie Ness-Treasurer. Which brings us up to now. It seems impossible that our class could ever make history, but every minute gone by is history, and our class made something as infinite as time into something we can all remember as something real because we did things we can always cherish. Our foot- ball team gave us an exciting 14-6 victory over Perham in the Homecoming game. The game was viewed by our queen, Debbie Kratzke, and her attendants Denise Hexum and Darleen Fettig. Their escorts were Dean Ouren, Kevin Soberg, Tom Axness, and Ross Seifert. In the final game of the season, our football team defeated a powerful Dilworth team. We were honored to have Jon Smith, a foreign exchange student from England, stay with us. Jon has broadened our views on many things, and we will all think of him often. Our class officers were Pam Ballard-Pres.; Dean Ouren-Vice Pres.; Debbie Kratzke-Sec.; Meryl Rask-StudentCounci I Rep.; and Kari Erick- son-Treasurer. Richie Ness was the president of our student council. Perhaps the one thing about our class that was really unique is that we were all individuals. We all had at least one beautiful characteristic which we noticed about each other, and for which we loved each other. When you can take that many individuals, bring them together, and make a class as close as we were, it's really something great. And we were, we really were. Friends Forever, Class of '75
