Around And Around Time as I1 ve known it Doesn't take much time to pass by me Minutes into days Turn into months Turn into years They hurry by me Still I love to see the sun go down And the world turn around Dreams full of promises Hopes for the future I've had many Dreams I can't remember now Hopes that I've forgotten Faded mem'ries Still I love to see the sun go down And the world go around And I love to see the morning As it steals across the sky And I love to remember And I love to wonder why And I hope that I'm around So I can be there when I die And when I'm gone I Hope that you will think of me In moments when you're happy And you're smiling That the thought will comfort you On cold and cloudy days If you are crying; And that you'll love to see the sun go down And the world go around And around and around John Denver 18

Class History Nineteen-seventy-four numbers an end to our years at P.R.H.S. and places before us the tasks of being adults, of making decisions that will count. We haven't had a lot of practice making important decisions. Until recently, most of them were made for us by parents, teachers or older brothers and sisters. When we did plan something, it sometimes didn't work too well; remember the ninth grade class party? It was during our sophomore year that we first asserted our right to make important decisions, such as, what classes to take, who to go to the dances with, what to do Friday night and how to pass a test on Monday without studying during the weekend. To lead us through this difficult process we elected Randy Carlson, as President, Cathie Larson as Vice President, Lowell Brenna as Secretary, Mike Nettestad as Treasurer and Elaine Ripley as Student Council Representative. To inspire us at homecoming, we chose Cathie Larson and Cindy Velo escorted by Paul Restad and Jack Westby. It was a fun year and even though we made our share of mistakes we've learned from them so that we can look back fondly on the first year we could do our own thing and see how it prepared us for our Junior year when we had even more decisions to make. Kari Wiess was President, Lee Newhall was Vice President, Linda Knutson was Treasurer, Cathie Larson was Secretary and Cindy Velo was Student Council Representative during our junior year when it seemed like we were ALWAYS SELLING SOMETHING. Elaine Ripley and Cindy Velo escorted by Paul Restad and Jack Westby fired us up for homecoming and we had fun putting together and taking apart our float that year. We really worked hard to sell magazines which showed in the total amount of sales which soared over $7,000, breaking all previous records. We spent a large portion of that amount which we netted on our prom and banquet with the theme of an Evening in Paris , Mr. Matheson spoke for our edification at the banquet and the ensemble set the mood with the Twelfth of Never and Speak Softly Love . Later, at the prom America made music to remember and we all have memories of that night to cherish. Our junior year was a time of getting it together both in fun and in working towards the goals we had set for ourselves such as participating in the production of CAMELOT, going on band and choir trips and supporting members of our class on all the teams, basketball-boys and girls, football, wrestling, gymnastics and track. Now, in our senior year, we have set some new goals for ourselves. Kevin Anderson (President), Anita Frazier (Vice President), Kurt Pederson (Treasurer), Colleen Shores (Secretary), and Dan Aakre (Student Council Repre- sentative) have begun to work on graduation, and we all have been thinking and planning for these months and years after we leave here. Eduardo Vasquez, our foriegn exchange student from El Salvador, who made the choice to become an AFS student has enriched our senior year with a new face and smile. For our Queen we chose Linda Knutson attended by Elaine Ripley and Cindy Velo who were escorted by Lowell Brenna, Paul Restad and Jack Westby. Mr. Vantine fired us up with his talk and we started the year off well with a victory over the Elbow Lake Eagles and a fantastic homecoming dance. Our class has had a lot of good times during our years at P.R.H.S. and we've come to respect our teachers and care about our school; we put up plastic to make it more comfortable during the energy crises. We've learned to appreciate what we have and work for what we want so when we leave here we can say thank you to all the people who have taught us, helped us and seen us through. Shalom Class of 1974
