CLASS HISTORY History—it doesn't seem possible that our class has made history--so soon? It seems just a short time ago that we began to terrorize the Senior High halls with our determined sophomore attitudes. We were in Senior High, at last, and we could look back at the seventh graders and wonder if we were ever that short. We chose President—Pat Martin, Vice President—Dan Rollie, Secre- tary—Steve Toftely, Treasurer—Gloria Smestad, and Student Council Representative—Connie Knutson to lead us. We were allowed to attend all dances—at last. To represent us in the Home- coming Court we selected Nancy Seifert escorted by Bruce Arntson, and Norma Ripley escorted by Pat Martin. Our Homecoming float took second place, and we were responsible for decorating for graduation. As far as responsibilities go, our junior year was one to remember. Our class sold over $7,000 worth of magazines. At Homecoming we had Nancy Seifert, Norma Ripley, Bruce Arntson, and Pat Martin representing us, and our class float took first place. Almost all magazine proceeds went toward the creation of the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. In order to make the prom a success, a lot of work and organization was required of the various committee chairmen, as well as each class member. The requirements were fulfilled, and Once Upon a Dream was a reality. At the banquet, Mrs. Jacobson, a former sixth grade teacher, restored some fond memories of elementary school for juniors and seniors alike. The gym was transformed into a pastel-colored dream world, and the Marauders provided the music for the evening which proved to be one to remember. Leading us in our junior year were President—Laurie Hanson, Vice President--Steve Toso, Secretary--Glenda Johnson, Treasurer—Norma Ripley, and Student Council Representative—Kathy Dillon. This brings us up to the present. We've endured and enjoyed so many things, from a traumatic Junior High Class Party to making the decision of what we'll do with ourselves next year when we leave PRHS. Everything we do this year seems to have more meaning, as it's the last time around. We chose President—Norma Ripley, Vice President—Nancy Seifert. Secretary—Vicki Backstrom, Treasurer--Diane Johnson, and Student Council Representative—Kathy Dillon, to lead us in our Senior year. The Homecoming Court was led by Queen Norma Ripley and her attendants Connie Knutson and Nancy Seifert. Their escorts were Bruce Arntson, Pat Martin, Dan Rollie, and Steve Toso. Our Queen float took third place, and the Homecoming game against Glyndon-Felton was won by our undefeated football team. It's been said so many times before, but it's so true, it seems impossible that we're Seniors. We've looked forward to this year since who knows when, and now that it's finally here, we love to look back on the good old days. With the warm reflection we have of great times, fantastic friends, and helpful teachers, we are able to look forward to an equally enjoyable and exciting future. Thank You and Peace, The Class of 1973 17
