CLASS HISTORY We, the class of 1970, are now Seniors. Soon we will leave PRHS and part company with people who have be- come close and treasured friends. But before we depart, let's reflect back--back to 1966, when we entered the halls of the high school as timid but eager Freshmen. Once we had learned our way around the school and could remember which class we had next hour, we became pretty sure of ourselves. We were even allowed to elect our own officere, who were Tom Rollie, Lonny Hovland, Rae Korda, Beth Erickson, and Beth Ness. Pretty soon, we even began to say Hi! to some of those upperclassmen. But they all seemed so BIG . . . The next year we returned--slightly older, much taller--but all the same bunch of kids. Soon old friendships were re-established, and new ones were started. We chose as officers Tony Boe, John Cobel, Mark Engebretson, and Jean Peterson to lead us in the many activities we could now participate in. Homecoming was the highlight, though, with Patty Engebretson, Jean Peterson, Mark Engebretson, and John Gobel chosen as our representatives for both Sophomore and Junior years. And our queen really did seem royal. After a fast-moving summer, we again returned to school--but now we were illustrious Juniors, led by Tom Roll- ie, Mary Thorson, Dave Marty, and Vicki Aarness, Many projects were waiting for us, including a record-break- ing magazine drive, a successful class play, and an unforgettable Prom. And then suddenly it was graduation night, and we were startled by the fact that the very next one would be OURS. And now here we are, in our final year as students of PRHS. We elected as our officers Beth Ness, Beth Erickson, Mark Engebretson, and John Gobel, who proved to be able leaders. Queen Patty led a wonderfully victorious Homecoming--one we will always remember. The Senior Class Play, Bachelor Bait, was a howling success, as was our football season, highlighted by the Perham game, which gave us the HOL conference. It's exciting, but different from what we expected--we don't feel as big or important as we used to think Seniors should. We, as Seniors, share many experiences collectively, but also some vey dear individual ones--like drooling over that new guy or girl across the study hall, or sweating over assignments ( and dates), discusssng that One Big Prob- lem, and maybe that special dance--that will make our memories unforgettable. But we stop to express our our high school years an And soon we leave what has been our second home during our high school years, heartfelt appreciation to our teachers, counselors, advisors, and friends for making unrepeatable and fond memory. 22
