In the fall of 1961, nearly every one of us had a bad case of butterflies as we entered the doors of our familiar schoolhouse. We were infatuated with the idea of being mighty freshmen. Lead- ing us as class officers were Jim Shipp, Presi- dent; Marge Tabbut, Vice President; Janice Gobel, Secretary; Paul Drayton, Treasurer; and Judy Westby, Student Council Representative. Returning for our Sophomore year, we were led by the following officers: Steve Larson, Presi- dent; Marilyn Boe, Vice President; Marilyn Leabo, Secretary; Doreen Pederson, Treasurer; and Paul Engebretson, Student Council Representative. We were very proud to have, for the first time, representatives from our own class for Home- coming. Attendants elected were Doreen Peder- son, escorted by Keith Engebretson, and Linda Johnson, escorted by Paul Engebretson. Many wonderful, unforgettable events occurred during our Junior year. One just hasn't been a Junior until he's knocked on every door, asking, Would you like to buy a magazine subscription from the Junior Class? Top sales personnel for our magazine drive were LouAnn Velo and Mary Ripley. Representing us at the Homecoming coronation were Doreen Pederson, escorted by Donald Schmidt and Judy Westby, escorted by Keith Engebretson. Our class play, The Mouse That Roared, directed by Mr. Boen, was a huge success and left us all feeling as though we deserved academy awards. Our Jr. Class officers were Ed Jenson, President; Stuart Hanson, Vice Presi- dent; Marilyn Erickson, Secretary; Sharon Lage, Treasurer; and Doreen Peder- son, Student Council Representative. It was our job to decorate for the Junior- Senior Prom and Banquet. With paint, paper, and lots of ingenuity, we trans- formed the gymnasium into a beautiful ballroom with the theme, Blue Hawaii. In the fall of 1964, we began our last year of high school. We had a wonderful Homecoming with a very deserving queen, Doreen Pederson, and her attendants, Lynn Crews and Linda Johnson, and escorts, Ed Jenson, Donald Schmidt, Keith Engebretson, and Paul Engebretson. Class officers elected were Lynn Crews, President; Doreen Pederson, Vice President; Marilyn Leabo, Secretary; Linda Johnson, Treasurer; and Donald Schmidt, Student Council Representative. In November we presented our Senior Class Play, Arsenic and Old Lace, directed by Mrs. Brandvik. The fine acting and authentic setting made this play, one of the best ever presented in P.R.H.S. These mentioned are only a few of the joys, we, as students at P.R.H.S. have experienced. There are many others, such as winning first prize with our Homecoming floats since eighth grade, selling more magazine subscriptions than any other class, going to games and class parties, and just goofing off with friends. We, the class of 1965, will always be grateful to all the adminis- tration and faculty of P.R.H.S. and thankful for all the guidance they have given us. 28
