Elephant jokes came along to amuse us, some of the styles shocked us, and Beatlemania infected the entire country. Yet, in a few years, these things will be replaced by fads equally amusing, shocking, or enchanting. But the friendships of our school days will never be equaled, forgotten, or replaced. Who can forget the nut that sat across from you in algebra, the doll who sat in front of you in bookkeeping, or the bore who sat behind you in study hall? Even the teachers remain in the memories of seniors who wander through the halls for the last time--the sweet one that taught us how to spell, the crazy one that taught us about world problems, or the grouch that kept us awake in study hall. We also fondly remember the kids who led us, our achievements, and our ad- visors; Mrs. Grady, Miss Ahlgren, Mr. Emmel, and Mr. Fauteck--for whose guid- ance and help we are grateful. Look back with us now and remember . . . In the fall of 1960 we crowded through the doors of P.R .H .S . eager and willing to learn. We chose Robert Toso, President; Judy Orsund, Vice-President; Annette Samuelson, Secretary; Jerome Toftely, Treasurer; and Kathy Haugrud, Student Council Representative to help us over the rough spots of our first high school year. In 1961, we returned as the Sophomore class. We elected Wanda Halbakken, President; Virginia Hanson, Vice-President; Renee Aarness, Secretary; Rojean Mar- quardt, Treasurer; and John Borg--Student Council Representative. They led us without a moment's hesitation. Wanda Halbakken, escorted by Alan Erickson, and Judy Orsund, escorted by John Borg, represented us at the Queen's court during the Homecoming activities. It was our duty to decorate for graduation. What a job! Our Junior year was equally happy. We elected our class officers and they were; Judy Orsund, President; Robert Toso, Vice-President, Diane Velo, Secretary; Carol Swan, Treasurer; and Beth Trane, Student Council Representative. Our Homecom- ing attendants were Karen Rice, escorted by John Borg, and Diane Velo, escorted by Robert Toso. In April we presented Dino, directed by Mrs. George Grady, as our class play. The spring days bustled with activity as we prepared for the Junior- Senior Prom. We chose Moonlight and Roses as our theme. We also had our maga- zine drive. Going into our Senior year, we could not help but wonder who was going to be OUR queen. Karen Rice, escorted by John Borg and Alan Erickson, was presented with this honor. Her attendants were Diane Velo, escorted by Robert Toso, and Judy Orsund, escorted by Robert Thompson. In November we presented three one-act plays, directed by Mr. Neil Farney, as our senior class play. Our officers, Robert Toso, President; Renee Aarness, Vice President; Diane Velo, Secretary; Geraldine Evenson, Treasurer; and Judy Orsund, Student Council Representative; are to be commended on their fine job. In March, many of the seniors accompanied the Senior Trip Group to Chicago and returned exhausted. Our final year was not without its day of infamy.. On November 22, 1963, our president, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. While the nation mourned, we regathered our thoughts and went on. We, who are the graduating class of ' 64, are deeply grateful to the members of the faculty, the school board, our advisors, and our parents for giving us so many opportunities, and such willing leadership to this junction of our educational career. Wc will never forget our fond memories at P .R .H .S . 27 Senior Girls’ Most likely to marry for money Cutest ............................. Prettiest profile ..................
