SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Compliments of PAULSON'S TIRE SHOP SENIOR CLASS HISTORY September 3, 1951, ninety-five apprehensive freshman lads and lassies entered the portals of P.R.H.S. After the frightening ordtals of initiationhad been endured and found not to be as bad as expected, we settled down to a year of work. Our class officers were: President, George Bonewell; Vice-President. Ken Schultz; Secretary, Jo Ann Bowers; and Treasurer, LesLangseth. The advisors were Mrs. Martin and Mr. Emmel. A Sophomore Return Party was held and the year was culminated with a roller skating party at Detroit Lakes. In the fall of 52 eighty-five confident sophomores returned to take out on the unfortunate frosh their pains from initiation. Gerry Bowers, Ed Bredahl, Ginger Boe, and Mervin Sorum were our class officers, with Mr. Haugen and Miss Lace as advisors. Our Homecoming attendants and escorts were Ginger Boe, Shirlee Ellingson, Jerald Moses, and Ken Schultz. One of our activities was decorating and ushering for graduation. Rain spoiled our plans for a picnic, so the last day was spent in school. The Prom and Banquet, the magazine sales, theClass Play (THE DOCTOR IN SPITE OF HIMSELF) were the main activities of our junior year. With the help of our advisors, Mr. Sanderson and Mr. Fauteck, these projects were a great success. The class was headed by Bob Sillerud, Roger Haugrud, Ed Bredahl, and Audrey Grimm. Marge Carlson and Jo Ann Bowers with the escorts Ken Schultz and George Bonewell represented our class at the Coronation. Camp Acquilla was our picnic spot. Shirlee Ellingson escorted by Ken Schultz and Jerald Moses, ruled over 54” Homecoming Festivities. Her senior attendants, Jo Ann Bowers and Mary Lou Paulson were escorted by George Bonewell and Les Langseth. Our Trip Group was organized with the following officers: Sylvia Sorum, Virginia Boe, Shirlee Ellingson and George Bonewell. Under the supervision of Miss Overboe and Mr. Fauteck, our plans for our Chicago trip were successful. The seventy-seven seniors have the following class officers: Loretta Isaccson, Ken Schultz, Annetta Sherbrooke, and Jo Ann Bowers. We, who are graduating in the class of 55 ’, are deeply grateful to Superintendent Basil Shipp, the members of the faculty, theschool board, our advisors, and our parents for giving us so many opportunities, and such willing leadership to this junction of our educational career. Wherever we may go, the memory of our school days in P.R.H.S. will always be with us. CLASS COLORS CLASS MOTTO CLASS FLOWER Blue and White With the ropes of the past. Not Pictured KENNETH ELUNGSON HERBERT WISCHNACK Compliments of BONEWELL'S MARKET JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY In September of 1952, one hundred twenty-three timid Freshmen entered P.R.H.S. to begin their high school careers. This group “green from the bough and fresh from the stem”, came from many parts of the country. Although those worthies who called themselves upper-classmen, took great delight in initiat- ing us, we refused to be trod into the dust; instead we rose to greater heights. Therefore we organized and elected Stephen Waller as President; DuWayne Strom as Vice-President; and Ardis Zimmerman as Secretary-Treasurer. Mr. Strinden and Mr. Magnuson were chosen as our Advisors. There were many worries during our first year at P.R.H.S. Only one who has experienced our conditions can realize how we worked to achieve the levels of those upper-classmen. That was the first year we were asked to join G.A.A. and try out for Glee Club, Mixed Chorus and the many other extra curricular activities of P.R.H.S. We ended our Frosh year with a picnic at Crystal Lida. Sophomores! Revenge on the Freshmen! Our class was considerably smaller, for only 109 had enrolled. Ardis Sanden, David Kind, and Dorine Kortuem were chosen to lead the class through its second year in high school with Mr. Haugen and Mr. Christionson as Advisors. Homecoming attendants were Carol Berg and Lyla Peterson, escorted by Erwin Fladmark and Glenn Haugrud. It was the duty of our class to decorate the auditorium for Baccalaureate and Graduation services and to serve as ushers for the occasion. A few from our class were waiters and waitresses at the Junior- Senior Banquet. Happily culminating the year with a picnic at Strand's Resort we closed our Sophomore year. Before we realized it, we were Juniors, and Juniors meant work”. We elected Glenn Haugrud, Dave Kind, Ardis Dahl, and Lyla Peterson to head our class. During our Junior year we presented our Junior Class Play, “Winning Schemers”, under the direction of Mr. Robert Anderson. Also, we had our annual magazine drive, to help us earn money for the Shada. Our homecoming attendants were Elizabeth Hanssen and Janice Haarstad, escorted by Dave Huseby and Glenn Haugrud. With the co-operation and advice of our advisors. Miss Gimmestad, Mr. Sanderson, and Mr. Anderson, we hope to live up to rather high standards. With this three year foundation we look forward to our final year and hope to follow the pathway of our upper-classmen. The Class of '56 Compliments of: J. P.
