DYKES Captain Dykes graduated from the New York State College of Forestry at Syracuse University in 1958, 'was commissioned in September, 1959 and was designated a Naval Aviator in March, 1961. His initial tour of duty with Carrier On- board Delivery Squadron 40 in Norfolk, Virginia, and follow-on tours included Air Antisubmarine Squadrons 27, 32, 30 and 31, and as Commanding Officer of Air Antisub- marine Squadron 24. A graduate of the Armed Forces Staff Col- lege and the U.S. Army War College, Cap- tain Dykes was Commanding Officer of USS ST LOUIS CLKA-116, and Chief of .Staff for Cruiser-Destroyer Group One before assum- ing command of Amphibious Squadron Sev- en in February,-1985. A native of Kingston, New York, he is married to the former Mary Jane Janson of Jacksonville, Florida. They have two daughters: Katherine and Mary Eliiabeth- I q, gr. .
