GIRLS ' P.E. The importance of possessing physical fitness cannot be overstressed. Four years of physical education are being re- quired now, instead of three. Activities included in this course are calisthenics, dancing, rope jumping, tumbling, indoor and outdoor sports, and marching. DRIVER EDUCATION Mr. J. B. Custer Illinois State University, B. Ed., Uni- versity of Illinois, M.Ed. Driver education is a required course which involves acquaint- ing students v ith traffic laws, safety, and the parts of the auto- mobile. The 2nd semester course is Driver Training, which gives the students actual behind-the-wheel experience. To complete this course, students are required to pass their Illinois State Traffic Exam and obtain their license. Health, also a freshman course, offers guidance and instruction in matters of hygiene and other areas in- cluding safety, nutrition, body functions, and pro- fessional health services.
